Woody Nook Wines

Sauvignon Blanc Woodcote Chenin Blanc

Kelly's Farewell
Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

This blend of 60% Semillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc is fresh and vibrant. Tropical fruit, melon and grassy aromas offer appealing intensity of fruit on the palate, which is complemented by the long, lingering crisp, finish.

Sauvignon Blanc

An intense varietal nose leads to a delicate and elegant palate. There is good continuation of fruit flavour on the finish, which is fresh and crisp. Enjoy by itself or with seafood, pasta or light meat dishes.

"Woodcote" Chenin Blanc

This Chenin Blanc has sweet tropical fruits on the palate with a honeyed smoothness and a refreshing finish. Enjoy by itself of as an ideal accompaniment to spicy food.

Chardonnay   Velvet Rose   Cabernet merlot

Oaked Chardonnay

This wine exhinits fresh apple and sweet melon aromas, enhanced by subtle toasty oak characters on the nose. The medium-bodied palate combines melon and stone fruit with a hint of creaminess. A streak of crunchy green apple acidity give the wine freshness and lingering finish. Dring well now; however medium term cellaring of 3-5 years will be rewarded.

Velvet Rose

It is slightly sweet and has an abundance of luscious berry flavours, with an aromatic nose and a finish of lingering velvety smoothness. Whether served at room temperature during the winter months or well chilled on hot summer days and nights, it is equally delightful.

Cabernet Merlot

This wine is a classic Margaret River blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. It has a rich bouquet combining blackcurrant and capsicum aromas. The palate is medium to full bodied with cassis and blueberry flavours and cedary oak. The dusty tannins and finely balanced acidity not only give the wine great structure and palate length but also provide a cellaring potential of 8 to 10 years.

Tempranillo   Cabernet Sauvignon   Shiraz

"Killdog Creek"
Tempranillo

This wine has a striking deep purple colour and a nose that is suggestive of cherries, five spice and sarsaparilla. The palate is medium bodied with chalky tannins, flavours of dark plums and Morello cherries, with a hint of spice. Tempranillo is a great accompaniment to Mediterranean cuisine and casual alfresco dining. Drinking well now or will cellar for up to 5 years.

Gallagher’s Choice Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2007 vintage, our triple trophy winner, is simply outstanding. The 2008 vintage is a classic, full-bodied Margaret River style Cab. Sauv. Vibrant and complex, with a nose of ripe, mulberry-scented fruit with dusty oak overtones, the palate is well balanced. Drinking well now, it will cellar for a further 6-8 years.

Shiraz

Woody Nook's Shiraz exhibits a tinge of white pepper and dark plum fruit characteristics on the nose, which carry over to a well-rounded palate. Maturation for two years in American oak barriques adds vanillin notes to the wine. Enjoy now or be rewarded by cellaring for 6-8 years. Ideally paired with lamb.
